San Francisco

Jane Reporting for 10th September

San Francisco and we were at Sausalito eating lunch with the tv in the Italian restaurant showing race 5 of the America's Cup.  What a great time to catch up with the series as we haven't been following it here.  With a win to New Zealand we headed out to drive over in that very direction, over the Golden Gate Bridge (of which we have no decent photos) and into a curbside car park opposite the America's Cup Village.  How lucky was that?

We got out and strolled around, watching Oracle sailing around the place alone:

After we'd visited the America's Cup Village Shop (crowed and frenzied) we hopped back in the car and serendipitously ended up opposite the Palace of Fine Arts.

We then visited Fisherman's Wharf and did a bit of shopping while we wandered around.  After that it was off to meet Don Borthwick, a friend from New Zealand who was on his way home after four months away in the UK.  His San Francisco stopover just happened to coincide with our overnight in the city so we met him for dinner in his hotel.

  1. Don't worry I have some photos of the bridge and its twin in Lisbon. How lucky to meet up with Don

  2. Yep, the timing was just right. Pete has also sent us a photo of the bridge for the blog but I haven't got around to putting it in here. Running to keep up. Hadn't even noticed the comments!
