Jane Reporting for 4th September
This morning (4th September) we had a few traffic 'issues' as we drove from Glendale to Los Angeles airport to pick up Geoff and Lyn after their 13-hour flight from Brisbane, Australia. Such significant traffic issues, in fact, that we arrived an hour and a half late at the rental car depot to pick up the second wave of the Danvers team.

While the others were in signing papers I sat out in the shade watching the planes land at the airport.

We took a rather scenic route to Laguna Niguel and Pete and Marilynne's place. The GPS never faltered no matter what interesting turns we made so we did eventually pull up outside the door.
Geoff and Lyn just keep going and going and going; they've been out walking along Thousand Steps Beach with Gary, Pete, and Marilynne.

Pete insists that the weather is unseasonably warm - I would have said hot, myself - but Geoff and Lyn, fresh from Bowen, North Queensland, are finding it perfectly acceptable. Almost like winter, they assure us!
The three Danvers blokes are setting up for a barbecue dinner outside as I type and it certainly sounds like we have more chiefs here than we have indians. :o)
Hmmm, interesting - 3 Danvers blokes in Laguna. Never knew we had a cuzzie there! The trip sounds great. Only just catching up with the blog as we returned to NZ a couple of weeks ago from our 6 weeks plus away in the Med and Europe. Great to return to the cooler weather. Never again will I travel in Europe July and August! Love reading about your trip and looking forward to the time we visit Bowen to catch up with our tomato growing friends Bev and John (who we caught up with in London) and then we can meet Geoff and Lynn (with my mother's maiden name of Colquhoun)!
