Crescent City to Newberg

Jane Reporting for 12th September

Today (12th September) we travelled from Crescent City in California to Newberg in Oregon, using Route 199 until we met up with the I5.

On the I5, heading North

Very pretty country along the route, and we had plenty of stops along the way including a stop for a photo:

Lyn and Gary, photographers
What they were photographing.

Editing my post of last night to add one quirky highlight we discovered quite by accident.  We pulled off the I5 to get fuel at  place called Wolf Creek.  For those of you who don't know, on a camping trip in Aussie Geoff, Lyn, and Gary didn't get to Wolf Creek there.  Hence the sudden decision to refuel at this one particular town in Oregon.

As sometimes happens we were not exactly the perfect GPS slaves, and missed the turn we were supposed to take.  No matter, she would recalculate our route, and sort us out if we just kept driving.  But then we saw something in the field ...

Spider Car!

And another!

There were some very nice rest stops alongside the road and regardless they were always busy.  There were always toilets and parking, somewhere to walk around, to walk dogs, sit in the shade, and read up on the area.

Tonight we've been out and had a Chinese meal and visited a grocery outlet store.  I have stocked up on Dr Pepper. :o)

Visiting the Spruce Goose tomorrow!
