Merritt to Golden - Part 2

As well as the enjoyable break at the 3 Gap Valley historic town we stopped at another couple of places during the day (17th September) and the theme in all the other stops was trains.

As we were driving along we pulled into the 'Last Spike' historic site at Craigellachie.  This is where last bit of the Canadian Pacific Railway was completed and the 'last spike' driven in in 1885.

As there was a tiny gift shop on-site we had to visit that too.  Gary discovered a book that was using as cover art the very poster he remembers from his childhood as being the things that made him want to visit the Canada and the Rockies.

The shop assistant said they sold that poster at the shop at the main museum in Revelstoke, so that was obviously our next destination.

We zipped into the Revelstoke Railway Museum - but only as far as the shop where we did find the poster on display.  Sadly it was the only one sold out though the same image could be found on on the jigsaws for sale:
