We're in Auckland now after a seven hour drive up here yesterday and we're filling in time before our flight out this evening. The first likely crisis point has passed ... getting me to leave the cats in somebody else's care for two months!
I must introduce Anne and Lloyd, our house-sitters (cat-sitters, really, because the house would be fine by itself for two months) who travelled down from Auckland to move in and look after our Ragdoll cats, Sam and Mocha, while we're away. Anne is a book collecting friend of mine and says she is going to work her way through my library while she's at our place.
We had a good drive up here although we had some very heavy rain to contend with. We stayed overnight with Gary's cousin, John, and John's wife, Wendy, and had a great time catching up on the family news. (I was even able to get some cat-cuddling time in with their Havana Brown boy, Harley.) We plan to meet up with them when we overnight in Auckland on our return.
Gary is outside right now putting the car in the garage and then will come in for his lunch before we redistribute the weight in the two bags (his and mine) so they're a little more even for lugging around. He'll probably check his emails on our little Asus Zenbook (my choice) which we're charging up for the last time before the fight. The Kindle is also getting its last charge.
No photos yet because the only time my camera was out was to take a photo of a Ragdoll cat owned by John and Wendy's neighbours. The cat was sunning himself in their back yard and while his photo might possibly be of interest to other
This time tomorrow we'll be in Laguna Niguel, California, and I note that the temperature there right now is 33 degrees C. Not looking forward to that!
