The temperature was 28 degrees, 95% humidity, poor visibility such you could only see about 100 feet out to sea, rain, and lightning. The sea is calm, but the lightning was over head with extremely bright flashes with immediate deafening thunder. The decks were wet and as you walked around rain water was pouring of the lifeboats. I did three laps of the deck and came in.
Now the Lido restaurant. As I think I have written earlier--I am not checking as internet connection here on the ship is costing about 75 cents a minute--the restaurant is on the Lido deck (9th deck). It is at the rear of the ship and open from the seated area around the main pool. The dinning area is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late meals between 11 and midnight. It provides buffet service with staff available behind a central servery area to cook eggs, and plate up for you. Buns, salads, sweets, fruit juices and coffee we can serve ourselves. Seating is provided down both sides of the ship with duplicate serving counts in the centre. Most of the following photos were taken the other morning when I mistakenly got up so early. This accounts for no people in the dinning room
The seating down one side of the dinning room with the buffet serving area on the left. This is repeated on the other side of the ship.
A closer view of the food serving section.
A cross one end and joining the two buffet serving areas is the fruit and cereal area (for breakfast) and the sweet and cheese area for all other meals. Notice one of the cooks preparing for breakfast at 5am!
The Lido deck pool with opening roof above. this phot was take from just outside the entrance to the Lido Restaurant.
Pool side setting. All the tables are set so, if you like the heat , you can eat your meals here.
Forward of the pool is another food provider. Here we have the take away counter serving all the standard burger, pizza style take-aways.
Tomorrow Costa Rica and my first bus trip.
